This year has become a year unlike any other in our lifetime. We know you are making all manner of decisions about what can proceed as hoped and expected and what must be cancelled or postponed, and each of these hard decisions brings with it its own grief. It is with great concern for the health and wellness of our membership that we have decided to cancel the Jurisdiction Events for 2020 and not reschedule them into 2021. Since 80 percent of registrants fall in the “at risk” category of 60-plus it is impossible to guarantee everyone’s safety until a vaccine has been successfully implemented across our country and beyond.
Your Western Jurisdiction Team is changing the requirements for scholarships to the upcoming 2020 Calling u event. We are removing the requirement for a letter of recommendation from the Conference President in the interests of opening doors for more people. An updated form is available Here. Emailed submissions are accepted. Due date December 20, 2019

Sometimes we picture our local units when we think of United Methodist Women. Our local units ARE the key element of our organization. Our District and Conferences expand this work into the larger arena. Truth is, we are a part of a large, International Organization. For those who were able to go to Assembly, surely you are still excited by the amazing, exciting program that you encountered. The music, the workshops, the speakers, the worship – all were part of the experience of Assembly. We came back energized and emboldened to go forth in God’s work as did Mary. We witnessed the “Power of Bold”.
And now, you can look forward to experiencing this energy at the Western Jurisdiction Quadrennial Event in Tempe, Arizona in April of 2020. We are in the planning process of putting together an event that will inspire, motivate and activate you and your community of United Methodist Women sisters. Mark your calendars.
